WINGLESS97 asks:I have issues with family members. I have so many that would be astonished. Each one of them is brilliant and has turned down Harvard or some other expensive school for rich kids. Not only are they brilliant but all of them area genius with some activity or another. One has a book published, another is the football star, the next is a musical genius. All of these traits drive me insane. I feel like I can never become their equal or match their greatness. Did I mention they all are amazing artists. I want to know how I can finally get rid of this feeling other than becoming just as great as them. HELP!

Dear WINGLESS97,
Feeling like you are inadequate is something everyone feels at some point in their life, and I admit I struggle with this myself. When I think along these lines though, I think about what traits and characteristics of myself I find that I am good at. No matter how good your family members may be at what they do, what you do makes you, you. Trying to become someone you aren't will make your life a lot harder than it needs to be because you have to stay on top of it. Don't try to outdo the others, because life isn't a competition. Being the best at one thing will put you in one place, while being the best at what you do will put you just where you need to be. Don't worry about what others may think of you because being you is the best that you can do. Be proud of it, and don't worry, your talents and abilities will carry you far. Work hard to pursue what you do, and believe me, you will be the best at being you because no one else can do that for you.
